POSITIONS VACANT

Our cabinetry team focuses on domestic cabinetry for architecturally designed homes; and bespoke shopfitting for retail and hospitality sectors and offices. We only accept a small amount of timber joinery projects to work on as we choose to focus on furniture and cabinetry.

Key Role Highlights

  • Needs to execute accurate and neat work, along with being reliable, autonomous, and organised

Senior Cabinet Maker/Director

Job Type

Temporary full-time to move to permanent full-time following successful completion of the required six-month probation period.

During busy periods and with given prior notice, there is scope to work paid overtime during evenings or Saturdays.

Main Duties

  • Practical knowledge of working with melamine, laminate, solid timber and veneers
  • Able to safely demonstrate usage of cabinetry machinery: table saw, planer-thicknesser, spindle moulder, wide belt sander and edge bander. As well as standard power/hand tools and equipment
  • Manufacturing cabinetry: kitchens, vanities, wardrobes, laundries
  • Delivering and installing onsite with minimal supervision
  • Understand how to read and draw technical drawings and plans
  • Cutting and shaping wood
  • Fitting and adjusting hinges, locks, drawers, shelves and all hardware related to cabinet making, specifically Blum

Skills & Experience

Qualifications

  • AQF Certificate III or equivalent in cabinet making or furniture making
  • Valid White Card
  • Police Check

Skills

  • Have a strong eye for detail and quality craftsmanship
  • Understand how to read and draw technical drawings and plans
  • Able to create cutting lists from a plan or a sketch
  • Hold a full driver’s licence with an excellent driving record and drive a manual car when required
  • Work autonomously as well as part of a team
  • Be well organised
  • Demonstrate professionalism at all times, especially in front of clients
  • Strong communication skills
  • Physically fit to carry heavy and bulky items safely

  • Complete jobs to a high standard in the allocated time
  • Ensure the workshop is safe, tidy and presentable at all times
  • Ensure all machines and power tools are clean after using them and notify any malfunctions to management

Clothing

BYO work pants, safety boots and hand tools. Uniform shirts, beanies and other PPE will be provided.

Salary

The remuneration package depends on the successful applicant’s skill level and long-term commitment.

This role will primarily be reading from plans and manufacturing all aspects of steel framed doors and windows in our Mullumbimby workshop, with occasional manufacturing of other non-structural high-end quality metal products and installation work.

There are also opportunities to be mentored to further your skills.

The successful applicant must immediately demonstrate accurate and neat work, along with being reliable, autonomous, organised and uphold the company’s values.

You will need to provide your own hand tools, a reliable vehicle, work trousers/shorts, PPE and hand tools. Uniform shirts, jackets and beanies will be provided.

The remuneration package is dependent on the successful applicant’s skill level and commitment.

You will be required to sign a company Non-Disclosure Agreement, and again, for specific client projects. National Police Checks may also be conducted for client projects.

Lead Metal Fabricator/Director

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primarily manufacturing steel framed doors and windows.
  • Assisting with other high-end projects, such as stairs/rails, furniture, accessories, brackets and blacksmithing projects.
  • Delivery and installations.
  • Other reasonable tasks as directed.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications

  • Certificate III Metal Fabrication or equivalent
  • Valid White Card
  • Police Check

Experience

  • Three years + of experience in metal fabrication and welding

Skills

  • Practical knowledge of working with steel (critical) and stainless steel (ideal but not essential).
  • MIG and TIG welding, drilling and cutting.
  • Have a strong eye for detail and quality control.
  • Read technical drawings and plans.
  • Driven to learn and develop their professional skills.
  • Hold a full driver’s licence with an excellent driving record.
  • Safely use light and heavy machinery.
  • Able to safely demonstrate usage of manually handling equipment and assess when to use it.

  • Work autonomously and well organised.
  • Consistently demonstrate professionalism in the workshop and onsite.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Punctual and reliable.
